Jesus is Condemned to Death

Everytime I choose to sin, I condemn You to die. Whenever I bear false witness in any form, I lie against you and deny you, who is Truth Incarnate. My voice cries out with the crowd "Crucify Him. Crucify Him." Help me to accept and proclaim the Truth wherever I might be.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Carries His Cross

You take the load of my sins on Your shoulders. My sins weigh down the cross and making Your burden worse. You accept the cross and my sins without complaint and in love and suffering so that I might live. Do I accept and offer up to my sufferings in love? Do I accept the tasks that You give me humbly and in love, or do I rebel against them, having to be coerced into doing Your will, if at all? Help me to carry my cross in loving humility.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Falls for the First Time

I in my impatience shove You to ground, increasing your suffering. I want things in my timing, not Yours. How foolish I am to think that I know better than You what is good for me and when I should have it. You do not say a word accepting my harsh treatment of You and get up and continue Your journey for my sake. Help me to trust in You and in Your love and mercy.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Meets His Mother

You console Your mother, our mother, Mary, who suffers through Your suffering all the wounds suffered by our loved ones in our selfness, our failure to love. How often do I fail to properly honor those You put above me, my parents, my employer, my bishop, my church, my government? How often do I mock and even disobey Your laws, the rules of my parents, my employer, my church, and the lawful governments where I am. I am sorry, Lord, for putting Your mother, our Mother, through this. Help me to respect lawful authority and value obedience to those You put above me.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Simon Helps Jesus Carry His Cross

The government has to forces Simon to help You. How often do I avoid my duties of loving service, offering them up feeling and quite willingly, or have to be coerced into what I should do anyway? When I should act, do I remain silent or consumed in world activities, ignoring my neighbor crying out in his need? Do I just walk by leaving the needy for someone else to care for? Do I hide away from the needy, so that I feel no need to help them? Help me to reach out to those in need, in whatever way I can.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus

You are shown mercy by someone who suffers with You. Do I show mercy to those who suffer? Do I share my sufferings with You? Do I make others suffer, just because I am suffering? Do I choose to strike out in rudeness at others in my pain, or like You accept mercy and help with gentleness and courtesy? Help me to share in the sufferings of others with love, extending mercy and kindness to provide them some comfort in their sufferings.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Falls for a Second Time

I stick out my foot and trip You, Lord, causing you to fall again. Whenever I choose to put someone down for the sake of putting them down, I trip You as well. Why must I be so cruel? So inconsiderate? So unthoughtful? Help me Lord to always try to build others up, even when correcting them in love.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Speaks to the Holy Women

You comfort Lord the people I hurt in my selfishness and ignorance. Sometimes I let living in this world lead me to being worldly, putting worldly things above You and caring for those You love. Help me to see others through Your eyes and love them with Your love.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Falls for the Third Time

I slap You violently accross the face and You fall hard to the ground. How often do I hurt others in what I say? In how I say it? In my rudeness? In my violence? In my indifference? In my fears? In my gossip? In my laziness? Help me Lord not to hurt others, deliberately or incidentially, but rather act always in love as You would love.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus is Stripped of His Garments

With my misuse of worldly goods, I strip You of Your garments, like I deny others of the goods You entrust to me. Do I acquire what I truly need or do I indulge myself with luxuries far beyond my needs? Do I overvalue pleasure and misuse my efforts and researches in its pursuit? Do I envy those who have more than I and want to have more and more? Help me Lord to have a heavenly view of possessions, so that I might use what I have for the common good.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jeus is Nailed to the Cross

I nail the large spikes into Your hands and feet whenever I enjoy hurting someone else in mind, body, or soul, whether in my temper, my lack of concern, or in calculated coldness. Do I think about how my actions and words affect others? How they hurt them? Help me Lord to always considers the effects of what I do, before I do it, and help me avoid hurting others.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus Dies on the Cross

You forgive those who hurt You. I choose to deny You by holding grudges and feeding my anger. Transform my heart to love as You do. You die for Me. Am I willing to die for You? Sometimes I am, other times I am weak and taken over by sin, my failure to love as You ask. Help me to die to self and live always in You.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus is Taken Down from the Cross

You have been abandoned by most of your followers who ran away in fear. I too abandon you when I give in to fears, anxieties, and worries. I run away instead of facing the truth and embracing and trusting Your infinite love. Help me to embrace, love, and trust You always, in everything I do and think.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Jesus is Laid in the Tomb

How often do I put You in a compartment and leave You there, out of some of my daily activities. You who want to reside in my heart always and in act in everything I do, I lock away from some activities. In what areas do I not let You be involved? Open my heart and allow me to love You all the time and allow You to be everpresent in my heart, in my mind, in my words, and in my deeds.

O Jesus, have mercy on us all.

Cross in Heart Image

O Most Loving Jesus,

Thank You for suffering and dying for me. Thank You for redeeming me from my sins.

You have redeemed the world once and for all times through Your great sacrifice. Forgive my failings, both in what I have done and thought, and in what I have failed to do.

I am a sinner in need of conversion. Show me where I need to change. Transform me into Your image. Let me love with Your love and care properly for Your people.

Grant me a loving heart in the image of Yours. Grant me a mind filled with love. Grant me a soul bursting with Your love.

Thank You, Beloved Jesus.

Amen.
